Mickey Theis is an actor and musician, based in New York City.
Theis made his professional acting debut in the 2013 Yale Repertory Theatre production of Hamlet, starring Paul Giamatti. He has since appeared Off-Broadway in the world premieres of Posterity (Atlantic Theater Company), Desire (The Acting Company), and Among the Dead (Ma-Yi Theater Company), in the role of Eddie Cochran on "Vinyl" (HBO) and in "Shades of Blue" (NBC). Most recently, he worked as an understudy for the Broadway revival of John Guare's Six Degrees of Separation.
As a musician, Theis has written and performed as a solo artist, for the theater, and with Motel Motel, a band with which he toured internationally and released The Big Island (2010) and New Denver (2008). His debut full-length album, Range Songs, was released in September, 2016.
Theis is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama, a recipient of the US State Department "Cultures in Harmony" Grant, the Jerome L. Greene Endowment Fund Scholarship, and the Oliver Thorndike Award in Acting.
